Making a Difference in the Lives of Others

We are thrilled to share that we are heading back to South East Asia this summer with our good friends, the Wilhoit's.  The majority of our time will be spent in Singapore but June 22-26 we will be in Cambodia working on service projects for Caring For Cambodia.  We are so excited to be able to do this with them!

Cambodia has a very special place in our hearts.  We lived in Singapore from 2008-2010 and Cambodia was one of the first Asian holidays we took.

Prior to our trip, we weren't familiar with the Caring For Cambodia organization and didn't know too much about the Khmer Rouge.  While we were there our driver shared stories about that terrible time in their history.  It was heartbreaking.  What was even more tragic was the fact that they still hadn't recovered from it totally.

Shortly after that visit I was introduced to CFC by my good friend, Anne Wilhoit, and began supporting the organization.  We always wanted to do a service project but never had the opportunity to get back.  Fast forward to last summer.  Anne invited us to travel back to Singapore with their family and also participate in a CFC project in June 2017.  We're so excited and humbled to finally get to serve this extraordinary organization where they believe that education is the key to rebuilding the country.  (Please scroll down to watch the video about the CFC organization)

We need your help to make this possible

We want to do as many projects as we can for the CFC schools and this is where we need you.  The more money we can raise the more we can do.  As a family, our goal is to raise $5000.  We have been blessed with above and beyond what we need here in the United States.  Please help us provide these children with the bare necessities such as food, clean water, and an education.

Our projects will likely be environmentally focused.  Here are a few things that we are considering.

  • Building recycling bins and/or sustainable gardens.
  • Construct a study hut like the one above.

  • Fund the maintenance of their water filtration system.

  • Do some painting and/or paving projects.

Everyone who donates will receive a written update on how the service trip went along with a picture or two of our finished projects.

  • Donate $100 or more and you can visit the famous Angkor Wat Temple in Siem Reap just like Flat Stanley.
  • Donate $250 and you also get to visit the Singapore Merlion.
  • Donate $500 or more and you'll also receive a special gift.

Please send your photo to us no later than June 14 at theresawilson@me.com.
